Most people are trying to get healthier...

Backwards.

Here's what usually happens.

They start with food.

"I need a diet."

"I need to cut carbs."

"I need to stop eating after 6."

Then they move on to exercise.

They join a gym.

They buy new shoes.

They find a workout plan.

And water?

If they remember.

That order is the reason so many people quit.

Because you've skipped the foundation.

Here's the order I recommend

Step 1: Water 💧

This is where everything starts.

Not because water burns fat.

Not because it's magic.

But because it changes what you want to eat.

Think about someone who puts two teaspoons of sugar in their coffee.

Now give them one teaspoon.

Their reaction is usually:

"This is bitter."

But it isn't.

Their palate has simply adapted to sweeter food.

The same thing happens with everything else.

If you're constantly drinking cooldrinks...

Water tastes boring.

Fruit doesn't taste sweet enough.

Vegetables taste bland.

Whole foods feel "boring."

Your palate is making your food choices for you.

That's why water comes first.

Drink enough water long enough, and your palate slowly changes.

Water starts tasting good.

Fruit tastes sweeter.

Whole foods become easier to enjoy.

That's a massive advantage before you ever think about changing your diet.

Water also helps:

• reduce cravings

• improve digestion

• support your joints

• improve physical performance

• help regulate appetite

My recommendation?

2 to 3 litres every single day.

Not Monday to Friday.

Every day.

Step 2: Activity 🚶

Once water becomes a habit...

Now we move.

Not because you need to "burn off" yesterday's food.

Because your body was built to move.

Start with walking.

Increase your daily steps gradually.

Then add strength training.

Practice:

• Squats

• Push-ups

• Pull-ups (if available)

The goal isn't to become exhausted.

The goal is to become stronger.

Because stronger muscles don't just help you in the gym.

They increase your metabolic rate.

They support healthy bones.

They improve insulin sensitivity.

They help you stay independent as you get older.

Movement isn't punishment.

Step 3: Whole foods 🍽️

Only now do we start cleaning up your nutrition.

Because by this point:

You're hydrated.

Your cravings are lower.

Your palate has started changing.

Your body is moving.

Now eating better becomes much easier.

Your meals should mostly come from your kitchen.

Think:

🥩 Protein

🥔 Carbohydrates

🥦 Vegetables

💧 Water

And while you're doing that:

❌ No cooldrinks.

❌ No snacks.

❌ No fast food.

Simple.

Why this order works

Most people try to rely on willpower.

They start with the hardest thing first.

Then they're surprised when they give up.

I'd rather you build a foundation.

Master your water.

Then master movement.

Then improve your food.

Each step makes the next one easier.

Final thought

If you've been struggling to stay consistent...

Maybe you've just been starting at Step 3 instead of Step 1.

So this week, don't worry about finding the perfect diet.

Just drink your water.

Everything else gets easier from there.
