Hey : )

Let’s talk about something people don’t like admitting.

Sometimes…

You’re not hungry.

You’re bored.

And because you’re bored, your brain starts looking for something to do.

For a lot of people, that “something” becomes food.

Not a meal.

A snack.

And that’s where the problem starts.

I don’t believe in snacking

If you’re hungry, eat a proper meal.

Not chips.
Not sweets.
Not biscuits.
Not “just something small.”

A proper meal.

Food from your kitchen.

A meal with:

• protein
• vegetables
• carbs
• water

No cooldrink.
No juice.
Nothing sweet with the meal.

Water.

Because the goal is not to keep giving your brain little hits of flavour every time you feel bored, tired, stressed, or uncomfortable.

The goal is to teach your body:

“When I’m hungry, I eat food.”

Not:

“When I’m bored, I snack.”

Snacks are not innocent

Most snacks are not eaten because your body needs nutrients.

They’re eaten because:

• you’re watching something
• you’re scrolling
• you’re sitting around
• you’re stressed
• you want something to do

That’s not hunger.

That’s habit.

And the more you do it, the more your brain learns:

“Every time I feel a little discomfort, we go find snacks.”

That is the pattern we need to break.

This is why water matters

2 litres of water a day is the minimum.

Every day.

Because sometimes what you think is hunger is actually thirst.

The same part of your brain involved in hunger also helps regulate thirst.

So when you’re not hydrated, your body can make you feel like you need food.

Then you snack.

Then you overeat.

Then you wonder why your body is not changing.

Start with water.

Before you change your whole diet.

Before you panic.

Before you start blaming your metabolism.

Drink your water.

Do not keep snacks in the house

This one is simple.

If snacks are in your house, you are setting yourself up.

The goal is not to “have more discipline.”

The goal is to create friction.

Make it harder to snack.

Because if the chips, sweets, biscuits, and cooldrinks are already in the house, then the decision is too easy.

You don’t want snacks within reach.

You want distance between you and the habit.

If you really want snacks, you should have to leave the house and go get them.

That friction matters.

Once you start, it can spiral

This is the part people underestimate.

You can be doing well.

Drinking water.
Moving your body.
Eating from your kitchen.

Then you start snacking again.

And suddenly it wakes everything up.

The cravings.
The old habits.
The “just one more” feeling.

Why?

Because these foods are made to be easy to overeat.

They are salty.
Sweet.
Crunchy.
Oily.
Delicious.

That doesn’t mean the companies are evil.

It means the incentive is obvious.

The more you eat, the more they sell.

So of course the snacks are made to taste good.

That is why you need to be careful with them.

So what should you eat instead?

Whole foods.

Food that actually fills you.

Food that gives your body something to work with.

Satiating vegetables

• Kale
• cabbage
• broccoli
• carrots
• butternut/pumpkin

These give you volume, fiber, and nutrients.

They help you feel full without needing to eat a mountain of calories.

Satiating proteins

• eggs
• chicken
• beef mince
• pilchards
• chicken liver

Protein helps keep you full and supports muscle.

And yes, organ meats like chicken liver, chicken hearts, gizzards are underrated.

Affordable.
Nutrient-dense.
Easy to add to meals.

Satiating carbs

• potatoes
• rice
• oats
• beans
• lentils

Carbs are not the enemy.

The problem is usually not rice or potatoes.

The problem is snacks, cooldrinks, sauces, oils, and eating without paying attention.

The rule is simple

If you’re hungry, eat a meal.

If you’re bored, drink water and go do something.

Walk.
Clean.
Stretch.
Move.
Pray.
Read.
Do something that doesn’t involve opening a packet.

Because the body you want is not built by constantly negotiating with snacks.

It’s built by repeating the basics.

Water.
Whole food.
Movement.
Strength.

That’s it.
