Summer is here! The sun is out, the days are getting warmer, and this is the perfect opportunity to get into the habit of drinking more water.
So let's use it to our advantage.
First things first: keep that water bottle in arms reach at all times.
Take it with you wherever you go. Keep it on your desk, in your car, next to your bed, or wherever you spend most of your time. The easier it is to access water, the easier it becomes to drink it consistently.
And if plain water gets boring, get creative!
Add some lemon. ( one slice i see too many of you using half or even a full lemon)
Add some mint.
Add some cucumber.
You don't need to make your water fancy, but if adding a little flavour helps you drink more of it, go for it!
Now, here's something I want you to pay attention to: consistency.
You don't want to drink a whole lot of water in the morning and then go the entire afternoon barely touching your bottle.
You don't want to wake up, drink your warm lemon water, pat yourself on the back, and then forget that water exists for the rest of the day.
Warm lemon water is fine, but it doesn't magically replace the water you need throughout the day.
The goal is to sip on your water consistently from morning to evening. Don't wait until you're desperately thirsty to remember that you own a water bottle.
A few simple habits can help:
Keep your water bottle within arm's reach.
Refill it as soon as it gets empty.
Take it with you when you leave the house.
Drink water regularly throughout the day, especially when you're sweating more in the summer heat.
Pay attention to your thirst and adjust your intake to your activity level and the weather.
And remember, don't wait until you feel motivated to build a good habit. Make the habit so easy that you have fewer excuses not to do it.
Summer is giving you a head start. Take advantage of it!
