Trying to change everything at once.
Monday morning:
New diet.
New workout plan.
3L of water.
10,000 steps.
No sugar.
No takeaways.
No snacks.
And you're motivated.
For about 4 days.
Then life happens.
You miss a workout.
You drink a cooldrink.
You don't hit your water target.
You eat something you weren't “supposed” to eat.
And suddenly you think:
“Well, I messed up. I'll start again Monday.”
And that's the problem.
You don't need more motivation.
You need fewer things to fail at.
Start with one thing.
If you're barely drinking water, don't worry about hitting 3L tomorrow.
Start with 1L.
Make that automatic.
Then increase it.
If you're not moving much, don't suddenly force yourself to train 6 days a week.
Start walking.
Do it consistently.
Then add strength training.
If your diet is mostly takeaways and snacks, don't suddenly try to eat “perfectly.”
Start making more meals at home.
Build meals around whole foods.
Then improve from there.
You build habits in layers.
Not all at once.
Think about building a house
you start with a solid foundation, not the roof and the windows and the electric wires, and and and…
Eventually, it becomes automatic.
Your health works the same way.
The goal isn't to have the perfect week.
It's to build a lifestyle where the basics happen without requiring a daily argument with yourself.
Drink your water.
Move your body.
Get stronger.
Eat mostly whole foods.
Sleep properly.
Repeat.
And once those things become normal, then you can start optimising.
Because consistency with the basics will beat an impressive plan you abandon every two weeks.
How did your sugar addiction start, i might have an answer…
Want someone to keep you accountable?
That's exactly what my 1-on-1 coaching is designed for.
We'll take your goal, break it down into manageable habits, and build a plan around your actual lifestyle rather than giving you another unrealistic programme to follow.
