If your goal over the next few months is to get leaner, don't overcomplicate it.
Forget detoxes.
Forget fat burners.
Forget trying to change your entire life overnight.
Instead, focus on these three things.
1. Drink More Water š§
If my minimum recommendation is normally 2 litres, then for getting leaner I want you aiming for 3 litres every day.
Why?
Because water helps:
reduce cravings
reduce unnecessary snacking
improve digestion
improve training performance
re-acclimate your palate so you crave less sugar
The more your palate gets used to water, the less you'll crave cooldrinks, sweets, and sugary foods.
Your body becomes satisfied with simpler foods.
That's exactly where we want to be.
Your challenge:
Drink 3 litres of water every single day.
No excuses.
2. Increase Your Daily Movement š¶
If you're currently doing 2,000 steps, don't suddenly jump to 10,000.
Build gradually.
For example:
Week 1: 2,000 ā 3,000
Week 2: 3,000 ā 4,000
Week 3: 4,000 ā 5,000
Keep increasing until you're consistently moving every day.
Walking is one of the easiest ways to increase the number of calories you burn without putting excessive stress on your body.
Once walking becomes a habit, start adding strength training.
My recommendations:
Squats
Push-ups
Pull-ups (if available)
The goal isn't just to burn calories.
The goal is to build muscle.
More muscle means a higher metabolic rate, which means you burn more calories even while you're resting.
3. Eat Mostly Whole Foods š½ļø
If it didn't come from your kitchen...
Think twice.
Your meals should mostly come from whole foods such as:
Protein
Chicken
Eggs
Lean beef
Pilchards
Chicken livers
Lentils
Beans
Carbohydrates (Moderation is important here)
Potatoes
Rice
Oats
Pap
Vegetables
Carrots
Spinach
Broccoli
Cabbage
Butternut
A simple way to build your plate:
š„¦ 1/3 your plate: Vegetables
š 1/3 your plate: Carbohydrates
š„© 1/3 your plate: Protein
This keeps your meals filling, nutritious, and much harder to overeat.
And while you're doing this:
ā No cooldrinks
ā No snacks
ā No fast food
Drink water with every meal.
Don't Try to Change Everything Overnight
The mistake most people make is trying to do all three perfectly on Day One.
Instead:
Master your water.
Then build your movement.
Then clean up your nutrition.
Small changes repeated every day will beat extreme diets every single time.
Again
š§ Drink 3 litres of water every day.
š¶ Increase your step count every week.
š½ļø Eat mostly whole foods from your kitchen.
No cooldrinks.
No snacks.
No fast food.
Do this consistently, and you'll be surprised how much leaner you can become over the next few months.
